#ProductReview: ORIFLAME Giordani Gold Pure Uforia Foundation #Porcelain

I’m a huge fan of Oriflame foundations, but unfortunately, I only have one shade that matches my skin tone (MasterCreation). The other two shades I received, Age Defying and Illuskin, were too dark for me. However, when I used them on others, Oriflame’s foundations looked amazing. I’ve been wanting to find matching shades for myself for a while now, but I haven’t been able to try the formulas I’ve previously used. Instead, I decided to give the Giordani Gold foundation a try. According to Oriflame, it’s a medium coverage foundation that gives a luminous glow and has a hydrating formula. It also has SPF 35+. This foundation is very lightweight, with a fluid consistency and provides a light to medium coverage. The finish is glowy and dewy, which suits my dry skin well. The shade I have, Porcelain, is a perfect match for me. It has a similar depth to Revlon’s 110 Ivory and has a cool undertone.

I received a sample size of this product. I initially thought the shade would match me, but it turned out to be a shade or two too dark (I believe the green version is the lightest). This variant is a brightening version and contains high amounts of arbutin, along with small amounts of adenosine, vitamin C, ceramides, retinol, centella asiatica, squalane, Q10, a peptide, and various extracts. The formula is thick, similar to the It Cosmetics CC cream. It offers medium coverage and has a slightly more matte finish on my dry skin. It blends nicely into my skin and looks pretty, but I’m disappointed about the shade.

I purchased this product for 5€ on Stylevania, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere now, possibly being discontinued. I initially wanted a different Missha cushion, but it was either out of stock or would take at least a month to arrive, so I settled for this one. I thought the shade #21 would be lighter with a grey undertone, but it turned out to be too dark for me and has an orange undertone. A small amount of product covers a lot. It offers at least medium coverage, but I apply a thin layer. It melts into the skin and looks natural when applied, but when I build it up, it starts to sink into my pores, emphasize texture, and even revealed a new wrinkle (so I guess my retinol products aren’t working). The finish is satin, but since my skin is currently dry and lacking moisture, it may appear different on other skin types.

#Stylevania: ETUDE HOUSE Tear Eye Liner 01 White

This is a liquid glittery eyeliner that’s quite popular on Asian cosmetics sites. According to reviews, once it sets, it doesn’t budge. There are three shades available, and I chose 01 White. The shimmer in this liner is of medium density. On my swatch, I built it up slightly, but it doesn’t require multiple layers when applied to the eyes. The color appears holographic, with shimmer that reflects different colors, though the base color is silver. The applicator is a thin brush that provides precision. I’ve had this liner last all day, but it does tend to disappear after a few hours (I might be accidentally removing it myself). Overall, I’m glad I purchased it as it adds an extra touch to my makeup looks.

I saw this blush swatched online, and it appeared to be a color I would wear. However, when I tried it for the first time, I discovered that I didn’t like it on myself. It was quite disappointing. It’s not that it’s a bad blush – far from it. It’s just not to my taste, and it looks completely different on me compared to the swatch I saw. The shade itself is interesting because you can create or adapt the color by swirling your brush. It consists of five shades: a deep burgundy brown, a peach shade, a peachy-bronze shade, a light pink shade, and a mauve shade. The first three shades ruin the blush for me. If it were just the last two shades, I would love it. It’s challenging to pick up only those two without touching any of the other three warmer colors. The pigmentation is very intense, mostly due to the deepest color. I have to be extremely careful when applying this blush, even with a fluffy brush and a light touch, as it can easily become too much. The cheeks need to be dry to the touch for this blush to blend well. Applying it on fresh foundation, like I do with other blushes, is not recommended, as it applies very patchy in that case. It has a strong fragrance, reminiscent of a beachy scent with coconuts and tiare flower, similar to BBW At the Beach fragrance or other suntan lotion scents. Like all Physicians Formula blushes, it comes with a mirror and a brush in the bottom compartment.

I watched a YouTube video featuring this palette, and there was a blue shimmer shade that looked absolutely stunning. It’s not my everyday style, but I realized that I don’t have any good colorful palettes in my collection, and I love the color blue. In the past, I’ve struggled to find high-quality blue shades, as they tend to be disappointing. I previously owned one of Revolution’s Forever Flawless palettes, and it didn’t impress me. However, I heard that this one was better. It is inspired by the icy north of Westeros and was released as a Halloween edition. There’s also a red version called Mother of Dragons. The permanent Forever Flawless range includes a similar palette called Ice, but it looks more blue-green and has fewer neutral shades. Winter is Coming is a typical Revolution palette. While I heard it’s better than other Forever Flawless palettes, it’s just okay. Some shades, like Winterfell (dark blue), Wall of Ice (silver), and Wolf’s Blood (medium blue), have great pigmentation. However, shades like The North (light blue), White Raven (shimmery white), and Courage (warm taupe) require a lot of building up. The gorgeous blue shimmer shade, Motto, was initially disappointing. It has that densely pressed texture that Revolution and Catrice often use for shimmers, and the color payoff was not as expected. However, the more I used it, the better it performed. It still needs to be built up with a finger, and the color payoff is never fully opaque (it works better as a topper shade). Despite preferring to use my fingers for all the colors in this palette to achieve an intense look, I still can’t achieve the same effect as the one in the video, regardless of the eyeshadow base I use.

This palette is not my usual style, but I wanted something colorful. After watching a couple of videos, I chose this one from the “color on a budget” selection. And let me tell you, this is a high-quality palette! I’m not familiar with the brand Illumin_arty, and I only briefly glanced at their Instagram, but this collaboration with Revolution (Makeup Obsession is one of their many sub-brands) really elevated the quality of their eyeshadows. The palette contains 35 eyeshadows, featuring both bright and neutral shades. The pigmentation is mind-blowing. I have been searching for a navy blue eyeshadow that actually looks navy blue on the eyes since I was a teenager. I even tried one from MAC, but it never met my expectations. Now, however, I finally found it in this palette. Just a touch with a brush or finger instantly gives a fully opaque color payoff on the skin. Most of the shades are like that – super pigmented. They also blend nicely for such intense shades. However, the four large shimmer shades have a tightly pressed texture that can’t be picked up easily with a brush, though they work well as toppers. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this palette, especially for carnival or Halloween looks.

Winter is Coming

I watched a Youtube video with this and there’s a blue shimmer in it that just looked amazing. It’s not my daily style at all, but I also realised I have no (good) colourful palettes in my collection and I love blue – in the past I tried to find great quality blue shades, but they tend to be a disappointment. I had one of these Forever Flawless palettes and it didn’t impress me, but I heard this was one better. It’s inspired by the icy north of Westeros and it’s Revolution’s Halloween release. There’s also a red version called Mother of Dragon. There’s a similar palette in the permanent Forever Flawless range called Ice, but that one looks more blue-green and has less neutral shades. Winter is Coming is a typical Revolution palette, so despite hearing it’s better than other FF palettes, it’s just ok. Some shades have great pigmentation like Winterfell (dark blue), Wall of Ice (silver) and Wolf’s Blood (medium blue), while The North (light blue), White Raven (shimmery white) and Courage (warm taupe) need a lot of building up. That gorgeous blue shimmer Motto was a disaster when I tried it – that typical densely pressed shimmer that Revolution and Catrice use for shimmers and colour payoff was abysmal. However, the more I used it, the better it got and it still needs to be built up with a finger and colour payoff it never fully opaque (it’s a topper shade), but I get the icy cool shimmer look I was looking for. I prefer using fingers for all the colours in this palette for a decent intense look, but I never get looking as good as was on that video, regardless of the base I’m using.
