The formula of the Charlotte Tilbury Rose Blur Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur claims to visibly smooth, blur, mattify, and hydrate in just one swipe that lasts for 12 hours. You can wear it in two ways: blurred or bold. When wearing it blurred, apply it to the center of your lips and use a fingertip to blend and blur. If you want a bolder look, apply it all over with the applicator. 💋

In our experience, it truly has a matte finish when applied blurred, but be careful not to use too much product. One side of the applicator was enough for our lips. The texture is lightweight, velvety, and moderately emollient, resembling a silicone-like texture. 😊

If you prefer a bolder, more matte look, we recommend gently blotting after the initial application. This will remove some shine and excess product, giving you the desired effect. The blurred application sheers out the product, resulting in a thinner layer that gives a more matte appearance. Plus, your fingertip absorbs some of the emollience. 😘

Unfortunately, when worn sheerly, the product doesn’t do much to smooth or blur your lips. Instead, it tends to emphasize lip texture and settle into lip lines over time. It lasts for around four hours in this sheer application. However, when worn bold, it’s more forgiving and slightly smoothing. It can last for five to seven hours, though not the full 12 hours as advertised. On the bright side, it’s lightly hydrating over time. 💦

As for scent, the Charlotte Tilbury Rose Blur Airbrush Flawless Lip Blur has a sweet, vanilla-like fragrance, but no discernible taste. 🍦

Formula Overview

$35.00/0.22 oz. – $159.09 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to “visibly smooth, blur, mattify [and] hydrate” in “one swipe” that lasts for “12 hours.” It can be worn “blurred,” which involves applying to the center of the lips and then using a fingertip to “blend and blur” or “bold,” which involves applying it just with the applicator all-over.

It was only really a matte formula when applied “blurred” as it was quite pigmented as there was too much product was on the applicator. Even when I used just one side of the applicator, it felt like more than enough product for my lips. The texture was lightweight, velvety, and moderately emollient with a silicone-like texture.

For “bold” wear that looked more matte, I would recommend blotting gently after the initial application, which removed more shine and some of the excess product. The “blurred” application did sheer out a bit (as expected) and looked more matte due to the layer being much thinner and my fingertip absorbing some of the emollience.

I did not feel that it did that much to smooth or blur my lips when worn sheerly, as it tended to emphasize lip texture and pulled into my lip lines over time. It only lasted four or so hours that way. When worn “bold,” then it was more forgiving and seemed slightly smoothing while wearing five to seven hours, though nowhere near 12 hours as marketed. They were lightly hydrating over time.

They had a sweet, vanilla-like scent but no discernible taste.
