#ChanelAcacia #OmbrePremierLibre ($40.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium-dark, plummy-brown with warm, copper undertones and a semi-matte finish. #MakeupReview #Chanel #eyeshadow
The pigmentation is mostly opaque, but it sheers out when blended. The texture is drier and almost crumbly, resulting in fallout from the applicator during application. It doesn’t adhere well to bare skin and requires firm pressing with fingertips. Unfortunately, it only lasts about six hours before fading. #BeautyProduct
Some possible dupes include ColourPop Gotta Fly, Too Faced Temper Temper, and Urban Decay Addict. #ProductDupes
The formula claims to have “pearlescent and intense pigments” for vibrant color with a satin sheen. However, the texture is not finely-milled and feels dry, which makes it prone to sheering out and not adhering well. The sponge-tip applicator is not effective and leads to product waste. It also has a short/stubby design, which may not be comfortable for some users. #MakeupFormula
Chanel Bois d’Amarante (412) Ombre Premier Libre ($40.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a slightly faded, medium-dark plum with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation is mostly opaque but sheers out when blended. The texture is drier and almost crumbly, resulting in fallout from the applicator during application. It doesn’t adhere well to bare skin and requires firm pressing with fingertips. It only lasts about six hours before fading. #ProductReview

Chanel Murier Noir (414) Ombre Premier Libre ($40.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a blackened purple with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. The pigmentation is mostly opaque but sheers out when blended. The texture is drier and almost crumbly, resulting in fallout from the applicator during application. It doesn’t adhere well to bare skin and requires firm pressing with fingertips. It also doesn’t blend out evenly. The color fades after about six hours of wear.#ProductReview
Possible dupes for Chanel Murier Noir include Urban Decay Backfire (Afterdark), Olivia Palermo Amethyst, and Pat McGrath Blue Blood. #BeautyProductDupes
Overall, the Chanel Ombre Premier Libre eyeshadows have a disappointing formula. Despite claims of vibrant color and a creamy texture, they are difficult to work with. The dry, crumbly texture leads to fallout and poor adherence, while the applicator is ineffective and wasteful. They also have a short/stubby design that may not be comfortable for some users. These eyeshadows emphasize dryness and imperfections on the skin. They last about six hours before fading. #ProductFormula

Formula Overview
$40.00/0.14 oz. – $285.71 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have “pearlescent and intense pigments” that deliver “vibrant color with a satin sheen.” The texture was described “as fine as a puff of dust, becoming creamy upon application” and has “8 hours” of wear. The sponge-tip applicator was designed to be used directly on the lids.
Loose eyeshadow is typically more difficult to work with than pressed eyeshadow, so I feel like most buyers are looking for something extra about a loose formula, and there was absolutely nothing special about these… and they were particularly challenging to work with. I was surprised at how NOT finely-milled the texture was myself; there was a general dryness to it that made them prone to sheering out as they did not adhere well to bare skin.
The applicator made exacerbated that–the only way I could really get them to adhere decently was to really press it into the skin and do almost no blending as blending resulted in some of it disappearing and some of it resulting in fall out. Speaking of fall out, there was a significant amount of product fallout–aka waste–every time I opened it, as that applicator did not hold the product well. It was also very short/stubby, which may not be comfortable to hold in the hand for some.
One of my favorite parts about Chanel’s eyeshadow quads is that they tend to sit well on bare skin, but these emphasized dryness and imperfections. They lasted six hours before showing signs of fading.
